Motherhood
From her ultrasound pic I thought she would look just like Kysen, but she came with a few surprises: blonde hair and blue eyes.

Sorry I’ve been away for a while, and yes, the rumors are true: baby Kamryn was born on July 28th, 2012 at 10:21 AM; weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 18 1/2 inches long!  After an almost-4-day-stay at the hospital and 3 appointments with the pediatrician, baby Kamryn is back to her birth weight and growing daily!

While I was pregnant with Kamryn, and before we even conceived, I constantly wondered how I would possibly ever have enough room in my heart (or day) to love another child as completely as I did Kysen.  Well ladies, I am living proof that you fall just as hard for #2 as you did for the first, and maybe a little bit faster than before because you realize just how fleeting babyhood is.

Almost unimaginable that this baby was inside of me only a few hours before!

I’m not going to lie and say that bringing in a second child is easy, because it ain’t!  After finally potty-training Kysen, we are knee-deep in poopy diapers and burp cloths.  The sleep deprivation is seriously devastating and my adventures in exclusively breastfeeding baby number two will be covered at length in my online journal: Diary of a Mad Breastfeeding Woman!

Funny the traits that get passed along: my mother's fingernails and my long fingers!

Honestly, I was right to be scared to bring a second child into our family because I knew the few minutes I could ever manage to get to myself would be completely wiped away.  The little bit of “personal life” that my husband and I ever enjoyed are now the stuff of the past and a good 2 years into our future.  What keeps me going is the certainty that this too shall pass and I NEVER HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN!!!  Now that we have “the heir and the spare” a la William and Harry, we are all set developing the ranks of our little family unit!  But having the four of us all snuggled together in bed makes it all worth it!

A BIG thank you to my brother-in-law, Derek, for these beautiful pictures taken on baby Kamryn's birth day!

Thank you for all the wonderful words! Kamryn is settling in to life outside of the womb and keeping us on our toes (and away from my blog, boo!), but it’s all worth it!
