I’ve been in full home-office-nesting mode lately! Spring is in the air and organization is on my mind, so I’m finally getting around to decorating the office we had built when we first bought our house in the fall of 2013. One of the first projects I wanted to do was a pretty dry erase board. Because no matter how many to do lists I generate on note pads, nothing beats seeing it right in front of your face till you finally knock that bad boy out!
I bought this aluminum Ribba frame from Ikea ages ago figuring I would eventually put something in it to hang in the office. Enter Pinterest and so many great ideas for turning a picture frame into a dry erase board–and I had my project! Now I had design decisions to make, namely: silver or gold (funny, this was the same debate I had with my iPhone 6)! I’m a big fan of gold office accessories but it’s really getting played out at this point.
My Mac is silver and black and the frame was already silver, so I decided to go mixed metals (like my favorite necklace, I guess you could say it was my office muse). I had already spray painted a Buddha head (that I’ve had hidden away in my bathroom for years) gold, so I knew I wanted to tie in both of my favorite metallics! A little bit of edge is always a good idea so I decided to take a quick trip to the craft store to get some gold studs! Check out how to easily add studs to any frame with my tutorial here!
Finally I made this cute “Get it Girl” spring graphic to finish my dry erase! Get the free printable here! I love the idea of changing out the background with each new season!
