Motherhood
Don't forget to pack this in your beach bag, your ears will be thanking you later!

So, here we are in the midst of summertime! If you’re like my family, you’ve already hit up the pool quite a few times since Memorial Day. And if you’re like me your ears are starting to pay the price! I have sensitive ears to begin with and now being pregnant they have only gotten itchier. Being in the water so much has not helped!

What is Swimmer’s Ear?

Swimmer’s ear is caused by water getting trapped in the ear canal, and guess what? It is not only caused by swimming, you can get Swimmer’s ear from the regular old bathtub or shower at home! This trapped water leads to bacterial build up in the ear canal that can lead to infection and inflammation. Itchiness, pain, and even swelling of the ear and ear canal can be symptoms of swimmer’s ear.

If you have experienced any of these symptoms, you’re not alone! According to WebMD one in every 100 to 250 Americans is affected by swimmer’s ear each year! That’s a lot of dirty cotton swabs!! As a Momma with a pool-loving toddler in the house and a newborn on the way, I need a treatment for Swimmer’s Ear that is safe, effective and I can trust.

A Natural Remedy for Ear Relief:

Before trying Similasan’s Ear Relief, I suffered from itchy ears. After getting pregnant the itchiness increased and I would often experience ear pain. I have had excess ear wax and it would sometimes like there was something in my ear that I could never get out no matter how many times I cleaned them.

I’ve used Similasan’s Ear Relief drops for the past week and I have to report that THEY WORK! When my husband first put them in, they felt different from other eardrops I had used in the past. There was no sizzling or irritation, I was amazed at how soothed my ears felt. With Chamomile being one of their active ingredients, this soothing effect made perfect sense! After just the first use the itchiness that I am usually plagued by subsided and I didn’t feel like I was reaching for a Q-tip every hour of the day!

As you know, I am a huge proponent of everything natural and since me and my family use natural sunscreens, shampoos, and detergents, why should our choice of eardrops be any different? I appreciate products that have natural ingedients and no chemical fillers or binders. With only 4 ingredients that I can easily read and understand, Similasan’s eardrops are a big time winner in my book. After using these drops myself and experiencing firsthand their effectiveness I feel totally confident that these will be the eardrops I reach for when Kysen complains of his ear hurting!

I will definitely tell my husband about these drops as he’s suffered with ear itchiness for decades and has tried everything, including PrepH and Vicks!  We’ll let you know how they work.  Thanks!
