It’s time for the nutritarian diet to go mainstream!

I started my eat to live journey looking to lose weight after my second pregnancy.  My parents had discovered Dr. Fuhrman on one of his PBS specials and they both achieved amazing results from adopting the lifestyle.

I decided to take the plunge when my youngest was 6 months old.  I was completely unprepared, I struggled a lot, but I didn’t give up!  I lost 21 pounds those first 6 weeks and I gained a new approach to my dysfunctional relationship with food.

I gained happiness, I gained passion.

And now I’m sharing that passion with you!  I love writing articles and creating recipes that are going to have a positive impact on your mission to live healthier using Dr. Fuhrman’s plant-based approach.

How This All Got Started

I started blogging in 2011 as a seriously overwhelmed 26-year-old, first-time mom.

Recently graduated from law school, and unexpectedly pregnant, my hubby and I moved clear across the country to California when my son was only 2 months old.  My friends, family, and most importantly, my mom were all back in Florida.

I created my first blog, MyMommaToldMe.com, with the hopes of making it a forum for moms to ask questions and get advice from other moms.  I soon realized that this magical (and very helpful place) already existed and it was called BabyCenter.com!  Ooops!

Soon, My Momma Told Me became my creative and intellectual outlet from being a homesick and uninspired stay-at-home mom.  I shared crafts and DIYs and wrote articles on topics that interested me–you can find all of these archives here.  Blogging literally pulled me out of one of the hardest times of my life.

In 2013, I started a journal on the blog where I confessed every, often embarrassing, detail of my first 52 days on Dr. Fuhrman’s plan.  Within a few months those journals became the most popular content on the site.

I fell in love with the nutritarian lifestyle and continued to write about it and create easy and tasty recipes!

In early 2016 I learned about the power of weekly food prepping in keeping me on track in my nutritarian lifestyle.  I wrote an article called The Eat to Live Food Prep Guide that quickly became my most popular post to date.

I knew from that tremendous response that there were other nutritarians out there who wanted to start batch-cooking too.  Over the next year I perfected an easy 10-prep system and wrote my very first premium ebook: the Nutritarian Food Prep Power Plan!

Thanks to the amazing success of the power plan I was able to completely re-brand and re-design My Momma Told Me into this beautiful slice of heaven you see today!

Hello Nutritarian has been my biggest dream-come true in my blogging evolution–it combines my passion for eating to live, with creativity and connecting with people to effect positive changes in all of our lives!

I am completely humbled and amazed by this journey and I’m so excited to share even more great things to come!

More About Me

When I’m not in the kitchen working on a new recipe or hanging with my two kiddos you can find me holed up in my home office, blogging, writing or being crafty!

And, here’s a little bit more about me that I don’t often post about:

  • I’m overly-competitive at board games.
  • I have more fun than my kids do at Disneyland.
  • I’m an emoji and explanation mark abuser.
  • I am embarrassed to admit I can read teen trilogies within a week’s time.
  • I sometimes get too passionate during discussions. (Okay, okay, it’s all the time.)
  • I talk with my hands.
  • (I blame those last two on my Cuban side.)
  • Oh yeah, I’m half-Cuban.
  • I love meeting new people.
  • Sometimes I go too long without showering and my husband has to intervene.
  • I somehow managed to graduate from law school but have yet to be barred.
  • I always feel guilty that I don’t floss enough.
