Join me as I blog my way through Dr. Furhman’s Eat to Live plan (again)! My goal is to reach my ideal weight by doing the 6 week Eat to Live plan by Dr. Fuhrman until I reach that magic number! WHAT I ATE ON DAY 13:
Breakfast: “Banana Blossom” (see Day 2, breakfast)
LUNCH: Mixed greens and spinach salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, 1 tbsp. raisins, 1/2 ounce raw almond slivers and red onion; dressed with Balsamic vinegar. Two black bean, quinoa and corn tacos on corn tortillas, topped with low-sodium salsa and 1/4th Hass avocado.
What’s up with these huge salads? Remember that your overly-gigantic salad is supposed to be your main course. Why? Because we eat the most of what we eat first. The other awesome reason is that it actually takes more calories for our bodies to digest raw veggies than is in the salad itself!If you were to make only one change in your diet, eating a big bowl of salad and raw veggies with just vinegar would make a huge difference (don’t believe me? try it for a week and see what happens!).
DINNER: Mixed greens salad with strawberries, orange bell pepper, white mushrooms, Trade Joe’s sun dried tomatoes, radishes, cubed cucumber, red onion, 1/2 ounce raw pistachio pieces, 1/4th Hass avocado; dressed with balsamic vinegar.
Wrap with 2 Dr. Prager’s California Veggie Burgers (I get them at Trader Joe’s), with green lentil spread (made in the blender using the leftover lentil beans I had made on Day 7), 1 tbsp. hummus, topped with Trader Joe’s sundried tomatoes and fresh green onions.
Dessert: 4 mandarin oranges (because you can eat unlimited fresh fruit and a minimum of 4 per day, booya!)
