Motherhood
Milk cartons wraped in newspaper serve as the foundation of this super-easy Halloween haunted house.

I had SO many good intentions to finish my Halloween decoration crafts from last year.  With only two days till our family vacation and three Halloween costumes to sew, I’m sensing another Halloween will go by with the projects unfinished!  Back on October 1st, I was delusional enough to think I could complete my old projects AND make even more awesome Halloween decorations.  These are the easier projects I found online and will probably not be able to make this year.  Such is the life of a momma, so I’ve chosen to post these projects with hopes of making them next year!

EASY HAUNTED HOUSE

This is such a simple Halloween craft idea that can easily be made with items you already have on hand!  It looks like varying sizes of milk cartons were covered in book pages (I’m sure newspaper would work well too) and then architectural elements were drawn on paper and glued or tapped to the cartons.  You could photocopy pages of your favorite Halloween-esque novel (I’m thinking Harry Potter or The Twilight Saga here) to use as the background or plain newspaper if you’re feeling less inspired.

You can cut out paper spiders for a more artistic lantern or go super-easy by gluing on some rubber spiders!

This craft would make an excellent table scape or decoration for a fireplace mantel.  I think it would look even better with a few black cardboard trees to add some more drama.  I like the addition of the M&Ms and truffles but a tree would make this even better!  Hopefully I can make this craft next year and include that extra detail!

EASY SPIDER LANTERN

Paper lanterns, once kept hidden in Chinatowns and the pages of the Oriental Trading catalog,  have become increasingly easy to find.  I’ve seen them at Target and Ikea and they are very reasonably priced.  This Halloween decoration craft is SO easy because you only need to glue some black spiders silhouettes to the paper lantern and the effect is really beautiful.
