Motherhood

I’m a Halloween junkie, and there is nothing more quintessentially Halloween than a home-made costume!  You still have a whole week before your little one heads out trick or treating, so why not get going with a little felt and a lot of imagination!  Here is a round-up of the best children’s costumes that crafty mommas have hand-sewn, hot-glued and bedazzled for their little trick or treaters!

Is your toddler the demanding, dictator-ish type?  Type-cast them in this Julius Caesar Halloween costume expertly modeled by my nephew!

Yes, I have started off my collection of “the best homemade Halloween costumes” with one that I made myself!  Go ahead call me a shameless promoter, but the truth is that I made this costume last Halloween for Kysen and he would not even put it over his head–so I got what I deserved in the end!  Needless to say I was DEVASTATED!  I had to bribe Kysen’s cousin, Makaio, to throw it on so I could at least get a picture of it on somebody cute!  I will post the tutorial soon (I’m not going to promise when, I do have a 3-month-old to contend with)!

My Momma CARE-BEARED-enough to make me this Halloween costume!

Classic felt makes this costume super-comfortable so she won’t know it’s on and super-colorful so she won’t get lost !

Sssssss-step up your Halloween costume-making with this awessssome felt “boomslang” snake costume idea!

**SNAKE COSTUME UPDATE: This snake costume has been incredibly popular!  I have been trying to find more information about the costume and this is the best I could turn up: the costume was a contest winner at NancyRainesDay and the little boy’s name is Rush DeGuzman.  There are no links out to instructions or more information.  I will try to contact Nancy to see if she can lead us to something more substantial.

OMG! I have a penchant for pinatas and this felt creation would win any Halloween costume contest hands down–break out those fringing scissors!

I’ll have mine with extra sprinkles! If only I could have gotten my act together this Halloween, Kamryn could have been the cutest cupcake ever!

So, this link has the costume mentioned: http://s6.photobucket.com/user… and apparently it was a costume contest winner over at: http://nancyrainesday.com/?p=2… — so sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
